Julian & Anja Sutton
Leaders of the Outreach Department — bus ministry, jail and nursing home ministry, soul-winning training, and the annual Christmas Toy Giveaway — and part of the logistics behind the ministry’s major crusades.
Their story
Pastor Julian Sutton is from Valdosta, Georgia. He spent time in full-time missions traveling to seventeen nations. Shortly thereafter, he found the River Bible Institute through a Great Awakening Tour with Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne. He could no longer settle into ordinary life and knew God was calling him into full-time ministry. He moved to Tampa in 2013 to attend RBI.
Pastor Anja, born in South Africa, came to Tampa in 2014 as an RBI student, where she also met Pastor Julian. Prior to joining the River Bible Institute, she worked as an Institutional Parole Officer, where she many times felt overwhelmed with compassion for the incarcerated.
Pastors Julian and Anja joined the River pastoral staff in 2022. Today, they lead the Outreach Department together — overseeing bus ministry, parking, The River Car Show, Power Evangelism Soul Winning Training Classes, nursing home ministry, jail ministry, community inreaches and outreaches, and local church events, and working alongside the Crusades Department.
Pastor Julian has served in the Outreach Department since 2013, and together they have helped organize and oversee logistics for major soul-winning crusades including Cape Town Ablaze, London Ablaze, Good News Chicago, and Celebrate America DC. Working in tandem with the Crusades Department they are helping to launch Good News Tampa, a soul-winning initiative to see Central Florida shaken by the power of God. Both Pastor Julian and Pastor Anja enjoy planning and often look forward to their favorite outreach of the year, the annual Christmas Toy Giveaway.
Their mission and desire is to uplift the hands of Pastors Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne in seeing one hundred million souls saved, reaching Tampa and beyond, and raising up radical disciples who win souls and train others to do the same. They have three young children, whom they say are a true gift from the Lord and who travel with them in full-time ministry.
